Wax Max — Terms of Use

These Terms are the agreement between you and Wax Max ("we", "us") for the Wax Max app. By using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Wax Max on Apple devices you own or control, for your own card-collecting use, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app except as the law allows.

2. Subscriptions

• Wax Max offers a free month, then two paid annual subscriptions, which differ only in how many cards your collection may hold: Wax Max at $4.99 a year, up to 500 cards, and Wax Max Gold at $9.99 a year, up to 5,000 cards. Prices are in US dollars; you pay the price shown in your own currency at purchase.
• Paid subscriptions are auto-renewable. They renew for another year and your Apple account is charged unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. The app also reminds you in advance of each renewal.
• The price shown at purchase, in your local currency, is what you pay. Prices may change; Apple notifies you and asks for consent where required before a changed price applies.
• Payment is taken by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• When a paid year lapses, nothing you have already added is deleted. Your collection stays readable and exportable; only adding beyond the free limit stops until you renew.
• A subscription is activated by the purchase itself. Giving us an email address is optional — it is only so we can reach you about the subscription and so it can be recovered on a new phone — and the app never withholds anything you have paid for because you have not given one. If you do give it, it is stored as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Your content

The app does not upload photographs, so it asks you for no content licence. It takes pictures of cards in order to read them, and those pictures stay on your phone.

This section used to grant us a broad, perpetual licence over photographs you uploaded when listing a card for sale. The app no longer lists cards for sale, and that code was removed on 30 August 2026. So there is nothing here to license, and we are not going to keep a licence we have no use for.

What you publish to the marketplace is described in section 4, and it is text about a card: a catalog identifier, counts, and any price, condition or note you added. Never a photograph.

4. The marketplace and trading

• The marketplace lets collectors publish what they have and want and find each other. We are not a party to any trade or sale between users and we do not guarantee any card, price, condition claim, or that a deal will complete. Conditions are a seller's own claim, never our measurement.
• Any sale of a physical card is arranged and paid for between the people involved, using Apple Pay or direct payment — not through in-app purchase. Digital subscriptions are the only thing bought through the App Store.
• You are responsible for your own tax, shipping and legal obligations on anything you buy or sell.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Wax Max to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload content you have no right to, scrape or bulk-extract the catalog or listings, disrupt the service, or impersonate anyone. We may suspend access that does.

6. Card names, logos and third-party rights

Card names, team names, player names, set names and card artwork are the property of their respective owners. Wax Max is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card manufacturer, league, team or player. The app identifies cards for collectors; it does not claim rights in anyone else's artwork.

7. Copyright and takedowns

If you believe content in the service infringes your copyright, contact us at the address below with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears, and we will act on valid notices, including removing the content. Repeat infringers may lose access.

8. Disclaimers

Wax Max is provided "as is" and "as available". Card identifications, price estimates and availability are provided for convenience and may be wrong or out of date; a price estimate is an estimate, not an appraisal or an offer. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the app or the marketplace. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms; the date above changes and, where appropriate, we tell you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the app at any time; we may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms.

Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content, except as set out in the Apple Media Services Terms; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
